about
Hola! A few months ago while planning the next Pavel Bures show I realized that i wasn’t very excited to just do another show. I came up with the idea that it would be cool to have a theme to the show.
So the theme for our next show on April 15th at Fox Cabaret is celebration of Spanish / Mexican / Hispanic culture. May not be the most unique idea, but it gives many angles for interpretation. Plus I absolutely love Spanish football, wine, punk rock, and festivals. Mexican cuisine is my favourite, and Jorge Campos is probably the coolest player from the 90s.
We also thought it would be funny to record a song in Spanish, especially given that I speak absolutely zero Spanish language. Julia, Kristy, Ilya and Sergei wrote music. I sent the lyrics in Russian from our song “Live Fast, Die Middle-Age” to @daria_starostenko who is a Spanish language educator in Novosibirsk. Daria did a fantastic job translating the song to Spanish, Jesse Gander made it all sound like I was born in Vallecas, Ksenia Kurilla beautifully sang in a language she doesnt speak, Stu McKillop mastered it, and Steve Kitchen designed the art. Here’s the result, the song is called “Vive Rápido, Muere de Mediana Edad".
April 15th! Fox Cabaret! Costumes are welcome and encouraged! Practice your tequila drinking technique and come join us for punk rock fiesta! Gran Exito!
lyrics
Puede que haya que olvidarlo todo
Dejar los planes y otras cosas de este modo,
Voy a cantar, bailar, follar, salir
